NAC Program Area:Utilizing New Technologies - Introduction

Introduction

Technology, particularly in relation to the Internet, can be of great assistance to the collector. Are you attempting to research a particular item? Looking for new sources for items to add to your collection? Looking for ways to document your collection? This area will provide suggestions and up-to-date information and `tools' applicable to collecting.

If you have your own website, or thinking about starting one, up-to-date information and advice will be provided in this area: How you plan out your site. Determining what you want the site to accomplish. Settling on "the look" of your site. The mechanics of operating a site or selecting the right site developer. Search engines and links and many, many more areas.

A Program Advisory Group has helped develop this program area and continues to monitor, add to, and refine the information on an ongoing basis. This group is here to assist and give advice whenever necessary. Discussion Forums are available for collectors to gain more specific information from a variety of forum participants. A listing of Resources for the Program Area is provided, as well as a Reference Archive.

The goal of the National Association of Collectors (NAC) is to identify and address those needs and concerns that are common to all collectors by providing a broad range of information and resources.
